Sun Kanji - Hi
Konnichiwa!
Today I'm have the Japanese written words for the Sun (Hi above) and the Moon (Tsuki below), these words are taken from Teach Yourself Beginners Japanese Script and I have continued creating the designs to help me learn about their shape and structure.
Moon Kanji - Tsuki
Also I find it easier to remember the written forms when I have a strong visual representation to draw from. I hope it's helping you too. I have learned that when you combine the Kanji for Sun and Moon (Hi and Tsuki) you get the written word bright. I haven't got a design for this yet but you can check it out here on Japanese About. I also need to find the accurate pronunciation guide to help, once I find that I'll get the bright Kanji ready.
The free language resource that I found today is a great online Japanese Dictionary. It seems a little daunting for me at this level of my studies but looks like it will be really useful in future with translations in different types of written language and pronunciation guides.
If you've missed any of my previous posts you can check out the main blog here where you can find the Kanji Fire and Water and some other free language resources. Feel free and send me a message or a comment with any questions, tips or just to say hello, I love to hear from other language enthusiasts!
If you like the designs you can have them in your life from Redbubble. I try and post them a little in advance. My next language post will be on Tuesday and I will be showing the Kanji for tree and then looking at our first two compound Kanji (woods and forest). I have already mentioned the compound Kanji for bright which is the Sun and Moon combined and I will be creating a design and a good example of pronunciation for that in future. Also as lunar new year (Year of the Sheep or Ram) is coming up (19th February) I will be preparing a special design for that soon and showing how to wish someone a happy new year!
All this is coming up and more. I'm already looking into some new resources to help keep my learning fresh and exciting. I can't wait to share what I find and I hope you'll join me so we can learn together.
Thanks for stopping by
Sayonara!
